Tales of Monkey Island
“It was great working with you guys, and I am glad that we were able to finally find our go-to animation house for our future projects. Your work was absolutely amazing and was exactly what we were hoping for. Also, the communication between everyone was really nice.”
- Matt Hanson, Producer, Telltale Games
Telltale Games, the mad geniuses behind the episodic Tales of Monkey Island and Sam and Max were faced with the novel and herculean task of shipping games on a monthly basis. This posed a serious content problem. The Monkey Island franchise is known for its beautiful animation as much as it is known for its gameplay, iconic characters and clever writing. How could they produce enough content, at the quality needed to fill a five chapter series? It wasn’t long before they came to the conclusion that managing and directing a large team of individual contractors was a near impossible task. They just didn’t have the time to manage each individual off-site animator while running their own internal team.
One of the things that makes Cinematics valuable is our ability to scale our teams to match any project. When Telltale Games approached us with their issue we were able to quickly grow our team size and in days we were churning out hundreds of scenes. Not only did we continuously deliver a huge amount of scenes but delivered them all at the high quality level the franchise demands. This took an enormous weight off of Telltale’s management, allowing them to focus on their internal team, confident we could tackle anything they threw at us. And we did. From then on we have enjoyed a great symbiotic relationship with Telltale and look forward to many great projects with them.
Visit Telltale’s site and play the game. The Tales of Monkey Island is consistently funny, brilliantly art directed and a lot of fun to play.
